Founded in 2018 by Nikkhil Dixit, Roobaru Roshni Theatre Company is a contemporary theatre group in Mumbai, widely known for creating
“Cinema on Stage.”
Our vision is to bring realism and subtlety into theatre performances, moving beyond the old and traditional approach to acting. We specialize in theatre productions, acting workshops, and online acting programs, offering aspiring actors a platform to explore natural expression and craft.
Over the years, Roobaru Roshni Theatre Company has produced more than 12 unique plays, staged over 350 live theatre shows, and performed at prestigious venues including the iconic Prithvi Theatre. Alongside our productions, we have successfully trained 1000+ students through acting classes in Mumbai and online acting workshops in India, making us one of the most trusted spaces for passionate learners and performers.
With a perfect blend of modern theatre, realistic acting, and storytelling, we continue to set new benchmarks in the world of performing arts.
At Roobaru Roshni Theatre Company, we believe theatre is not just about dialogue delivery, exaggerated expressions, or dramatic gestures—it’s about truth.
We are not a regular theatre group. We bring the craft of cinema to the stage, creating performances that are real, natural, and deeply human.
Our training method is designed to break away from artificiality. Inspired by masters like Naseeruddin Shah, Om Puri, Irrfan Khan, and other theatre legends who transformed Indian acting by embracing honesty and simplicity, we train our actors to focus on organic performance, realistic emotions, and natural presence.
Instead of forcing “theatricality,” our workshops teach actors to:
Live the character rather than perform it
Use methods inspired by Stanislavski, Meisner, and Indian theatre pioneers
Explore voice, body, and imagination to stay authentic
Build truthful connections with co-actors and the audience
